Courses in Florence with Forte Academy
"This program left me feeling invigorated in my love of Latin and excited for the school year so I could begin introducing more women-authored texts to my students. The teaching tools I gained and connections I made with the Forte Academy will stay with me for a long time and I look forward to expanding my knowledge of women's Latin even more in the future." - Anon., Women Latinists, 2023.
"This summer course was amazing; the texts studied and the activities all fit together extremely well; we got a chance to meet interesting women from former times as well as from contemporary Florence, and I particularly liked that so much feminist awareness training happened en route! The two weeks passed all too quickly. Huge thanks to the organizers!" - Anon., Women Latinists, 2022.
"The course was a delightful jaunt through history, seen through eyes and texts less often encountered. It was encouraging to see these women's work live again in such a beautiful setting. The teachers of the course are experts in their fields and show passion for their studies. I can't wait to come back and learn more!" - Anon., Women Latinists, 2022.

"Overall, an amazing and culturally enriching experience that I would definitely recommend! The course itself is relaxed and engaging while it encourages debate and conversation. Focusing on the Florentine culture and history from many different angles. It explores science, history, religion, art, history, architecture, philosophy and literature and to demonstrate how they are all intertwined to create modern day Florence. There was plenty of free time to explore the city for yourself or with the new people you meet along the way, allowing you to dive into the culture even while on your morning coffee run!" - Beth, Classics Abroad, 2023
"A beautiful and thorough exploration into the Classical world. Learnt so much and had such an amazing experience, meeting new people and seeing new places."

"I thought it offered a truly fascinating insight into Florence’s classical, medieval and Renaissance history in a fun, accessible way. The people were lovely and the location perfect." - Anon., Classics Abroad, 2019
"A superb way to see Florence that built on the material I've been covering at uni, demonstrating in the stone and paint of the Renaissance masterpieces the continuous link between the ancient and modern worlds." - Matthew, Classics Abroad, 2019

"I was introduced to the world of classics and brilliant writers who I knew nothing about. As someone who gave up on studying history at school, this made me want to learn even more. Thank you to Florence for sharing your passion for this subject and the authors. It's been thrilling to learn about some radical amazing women writers."- Amy, Radical Renaissance Writers, 2021.
"I absolutely loved this course! I learnt so much and it wasn’t as restrictive or closed-off as traditional classical learning can be. A real chance to genuinely expand what classics means to a student of it" - Kasia, Classics Abroad Online, 2021.
"I am absolutely blown away by how much information I received during this course. It feels like so many more doors have been opened for me to explore, and thanks to Florence and the team my appetite for the Classics has increased tremendously!" - Erin, Classics Abroad Online, 2021.
