Support Us

Forte Academy is a non-profit organisation on a mission to 'balance the canon' and make classical study abroad opportunities more accessible

We currently do this by providing specialist and pioneering courses in Florence across the fields of Classics, Latin, Italian, Art, History and the Renaissance which i) promote independent thinking and ii) shed light on understudied material and perspectives, from ancient to modern.

We receive no funding at all from any external sources and all income generated is used on course delivery and operating costs. To support a student who would otherwise be unable to study with us in Italy, we would greatly appreciate any donations (£10+) that you can make to our scholarship fund

PRIZES

We warmly invite any individual, or institution, who shares Forte Academy's values to consider supporting us in a more sustainable way by offering a Prize in their name. This could be a prize to support the course fees of a student who meets specific criteria (e.g. a former student or teacher at a non-selective, state school) or for a specific course (e.g. Classics Abroad or Women Latinists in Florence).

If you are in a position to offer a Prize of this kind, please email Florence at info@forte-academy.co.uk and thank you for your consideration!

How does the Scholarship Fund work? Depending on the fund available in any given year, Forte Academy students can request a ‘bursary form’ in the additional comments section of their online application. The scholarship fund is then divided into small grants (usually between £50 - £100) for recipients with demonstrable need, to help facilitate their travel or participation in a course.
