This Privacy Policy applies to your use of our website www.forte-academy.co.uk which is operated by Forte Academy Ltd of 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC12 9JQ. It will also apply when we provide services to you in person or when you otherwise engage with us.

1. Introduction

1.1. When you use our website or request services from us we may collect Personal Information from you, for example when you complete an online booking form. This Privacy Policy outlines what Personal Information we collect and how we will only process this information to provide our services to you or to comply with any legal obligations, including Data Protection Legislation.

1.2. You are entitled to know what Personal Information we hold about you and how that information is used. You also have the right to ask us to erase, change or stop processing any Personal Information that we hold and you can do this by emailing info@forte-academy.co.uk.

1.3. In this policy, the following expressions have the following meanings:

“Data Protection Legislation” means UK legislation relating to the processing of Personal Information or privacy, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (from 25th May 2018).

 “Personal Information” means information by which you can be recognized e.g. name and contact details.

“We” “us” and “our” means Forte Academy, with the above Registered Office.

“You” “your” and “yours” means the Client (the person responsible for paying fees) and/or the Student (the person attending the course) please see Terms & Conditions for more details.

1.4. We are deemed to be the Data Controller in respect of any Personal Information that you provide to us in connection with the operation of our business.

2. Personal Information

2.1. When you engage with us (e.g. requesting an Application Form, completing an Application Form, sending an email, making an enquiry through the website or contacting us by phone) you consent to us collecting Personal Information from you, which includes name, email address, phone number, house address, education history, family and financial details, passport details and employment details, visa information. We may also process sensitive information involving your physical and mental health.

2.2. By engaging with us in any of the ways listed in 2.1, you acknowledge that we may collect and use your Personal Information for the purposes of providing or marketing our services to you. You are also aware that we may need to share your data with third parties (e.g. in order to book activities, classes and trips for a course).

2.3. We may receive information from third parties who collect Personal Information from you and pass it on to us (e.g. if a parent, friend or guardian is booking a course for you on your behalf). In this case, the third party is responsible for obtaining the relevant consents from you.

3. Use of Personal Information

3.1. Only Personal Information of yours that is necessary for the delivery of a particular service will be shared with those who are delivering the service (e.g. tutors, tour guides, third parties who run services that form part of our itineraries).

3.2. We may also need to pass on your details where your vital interests are concerned, for example in a situation requiring an accident or the emergency services.

3.3. If you give your explicit consent, we may use your details to contact you after the course has finished in regard to Alumni events, job openings and marketing purposes in our legitimate interests.

3.4. We will only retain your Personal Information for as long as is permitted by the Data Protection Legislation, which is (as of 25th May 2018) 6 years.

3.5. We take care protecting your Personal Information but we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Information transmitted via the Website – any transmission is at your own risk.

3.6. We may use your Personal Information in other ways in addition to those outlined in 3.1, such as: to enable the authorities to assist with incidents, to safeguard the Student’s welfare and for the purpose of student selection.

4. Website and payments

4.1. When you visit a website, technical information is often collected with limited information which includes: device data and location data. This information can be either non-personal (e.g. device, operating system, internet browser) or it may be of a private or sensitive nature (“Personal Information”). We do not collect non-personal information ourselves, but it may be automatically collected by the platform that hosts our website. Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform which allows us to outline our services to you. Therefore it is important to read Wix’s own Privacy Policy before you agree to use our site, which can be found at: https://www.wix.com/about/privacy.

4.2. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

4.3. All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by the PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard and American Express. This helps to ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store.

5. Cookies

5.1. Cookies are small pieces of data stored on a site visitor’s browser. We do not actively use or store cookies, but our host platform Wix.com may automatically store Session cookies or Persistent cookies.
